East Anglian Railway Museum

01206 242524 Family Friendly, Historic Britain

The EARM is a living heritage site based at Chappel railway station. We are situated on the edge of breathtaking Constable Country and adjacent to one of the largest railway viaducts in Eastern England.

The complex of original Victorian buildings has a unique story to tell of railways and people's lives in East Anglia from the 1840s through to the 21st Century.

The Museum has the most comprehensive collection of railway architecture, locomotives and first-hand accounts of people who worked on the railways. The impressive site includes original and restored Station Buildings, Carriages, Signal Boxes, a Goods Shed and a fully functioning Restoration Shed.
