car arrival: Exit A1(M) at A6055 / A684 (Leyburn /  Northallerton) Junction 51. A684 west towards Bedale and Leyburn. Continue on A684 through Bedale, following signs to Leyburn. Approx 1.5 miles after Bedale you come into Crakehall. Continue through the village, passing Bay Horse pub on left, village green and Manor House on right, down the hill to the bridge. As you leave the bridge take right fork (signed Hackforth) & immediately sharp right up the drive in front of the old chapel. Total distance from A1 approx 3.5 miles.
