The detached single storey cottage is situated in the unspoilt Eden Valley providing easy access to the surrounding countryside, and the Lake District. On our doorstep is the Yorkshire Dales National park, which was extended to include this area in 2016. We are surrounded by excellent walking and riding country, rich in wildlife.
Pets, horses and cycles welcome. Laundry and freezer facilities available.

Accommodation:  Living room with wood burning stove and smart TV; fitted kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave and fridge; bedroom with kingsize bed; en-suite with shower, hand basin and WC. Biomass fired central heating.

Nearby attractions: Smardale Gill Nature Reserve with accessible route crossing the Smardale Gill viaduct, outstanding for it's flowers, butterflies and red squirrels; other disused railway walks are within easy reach.  We also have some spectacular waterfalls to vist.  Kirkby Stephen is 2 miles away and has a range of shops, supermarkets, pubs and takeaways.  The area is well provided with country and village pubs, including the Tan Hill Inn which is the highest pub in England.  Visit the cobbled streets of Sedbergh, or Hawes with it's museum, cheese factory and weekly market, and Barnard Castle is approximately half an hour away.

Established in 2022, Nuthatch is a newly converted stone shed which has been extended to give a beautiful and modern holiday cottage. It has underfloor heating throughout and a log burner, with a private enclosed garden.  The property consists of an entrance hall, open plan kitchen and living area, and a bedroom with en-suite shower room.  The bedroom has a king size bed.

The cottage is situated in the unspoilt Eden Valley providing easy access to the surrounding countryside, and the Lake District.  On our doorstep is the Yorkshire Dales National park, which was extended to include this area in 2016.  We are surrounded by excellent walking and riding country, rich in wildlife.

Car arrival: Leave the M6 at junction 38 and take the A685 east towards Kirkby Stephen and Brough. In Kirkby Stephen, go through the market square and turn left at the mini-roundabout (Signed Soulby).

* As you leave the town, by the Grammar school, take the left fork. At the bottom of the hill fork right for Moorlands and then follow the lane for over a mile, straight on at the crossroads and take the right, signed Crosby Garrett. Leases Farm and Nuthatch are situated at the bottom of the hill on the right, before the river.

Alternatively, leave the A66 at Brough and take the A685 to Kirkby Stephen. Turn right at the mini-roundabout.  Follow directions from the asterisk above.
