Due to our rural location, we recommend you have your own transport. There is NO bus route passing Mosedale End Farm.

Please be careful as Sat Nav`s will take you to a holiday cottage around the corner.

Leave the M6 at J40 (Penrith) and take the A66 west to Keswick for approx 10 miles. Take the right turn for Mungrisdale and drive approx 4 miles to Mosedale (You will pass through Mungrisdale, passing the Mill Inn on your left).

Proceed through Mosedale village, Sat Nav`s will tell you to turn left for Swineside, THIS IS WRONG. Mosedale End Farm is the last house in the village on the left. There is a sign hanging from the telegraph pole.

Mosedale End Farm is a 17th Century white farmhouse and is set back off the road, behind is its own private yard where you may park your car.

Lambing time this Mothering Sunday

Bed & Breakfast

Exclusively for guests STAYING at Mosedale End Farm, a chance to meet newborn lambs & their Mothers in the Lambing Shed. A birth is always special, and late March & early April is when our 800 ewes have their babies and in May our fields will be full of ewe’s & lambs. If there is a ewe is in labour and about to give birth we will inform you and you can come and watch the birth of a new lamb. So cameras and boots at the ready, just in case one is being born while you are staying with us Mosedale End Farm. We can`t guarantee you will see a birth, as Mother Nature works to her own time, but we can arrange a photo with an Orphan lamb. Please DO NOT visit the lambing shed by yourselves as strangers can upset the pregnant ewes. If you want to see them PLEASE ASK. We are happy to show you the Lambing Shed & tell you all about lambing time. Please remember to always wash your hands and boots afterwards. NOT suitable for pregnant ladies. Sheep Dog Experience- Farmer Andrew will demonstrate how he works the dogs with whistles and traditional commands and how each dog approaches the task of herding sheep differently, which comes down to their own personality. You then get up close & meet the sheep which have been penned up for you by the working sheep dogs. We will tell you about lambing time to shearing time and the beautiful landscape we call home, with questions welcome all the time. No session is the same in these informal chats.
