Planning a camping trip with the family? Here at Farm Stay UK, we've got you covered. Our members offer a range of camping sites, ensuring a memorable getaway for all ages. But if you’re new to camping, or you just need a refresher, we’ve written a comprehensive list of what to bring with you on your camping adventure…

Camping Gear

Tent: A spacious, weather-resistant tent with pegs and a mallet.

Sleeping Bags & Mats: Comfortable, insulated sleeping bags for everyone, plus sleeping mats or air mattresses for added comfort.

Camping Chairs & Table: Lightweight, foldable chairs and a portable table for meals and relaxation.

Groundsheet: For additional ground cover or rain protection.

Clothing

Layers: Pack layers to adjust to changing weather – t-shirts, long-sleeve tops, jumpers, and jackets.

Rain Gear: Waterproof jackets and wellies, just in case of a downpour, or if you want to get involved on the farm! 

Comfortable Shoes: Walking boots, shower shoes, such as flip flops and casual shoes.

Pyjamas: Warm and cosy sleepwear.

Swimwear: For the kids to splash around in the on-site facilities.(Remember to check what your specific host has on site!) 

Personal Items

Toiletries: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and deodorant.

Towels: Quick-drying camping towels are a great investment.

First Aid Kit: Including plasters, antiseptic, tweezers, and any personal medications.

Sun Protection: Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses.

Cooking Supplies

Portable Stove & Fuel: For cooking up delicious meals.

Cookware: Pots, pans, and a kettle.

Utensils: Cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, bowls, and cups.

Cool Box & Ice Packs: To keep food and drinks fresh.

Food: Plan meals ahead – bring easy-to-cook items and snacks. Some of our members have on site shops selling their own farm produce so you can always top up supplies! 

Entertainment

Books & Games: For cosy evenings and family fun.

Outdoor Toys: Frisbees, balls, and other outdoor games for the kids.

Binoculars & Nature Guides: Explore the farm’s wildlife and learn about the flora and fauna.

Chargers! Most sites have an electric hook up option or areas to charge phones or tablets.

For the Dog

Lead & Collar: Ensure your dog stays safe and under control, especially around livestock. 

Dog Bed & Blanket: For a comfortable sleeping spot.

Food & Water Bowls: Plus enough food and treats for the trip.

Waste Bags: To keep the countryside clean and tidy.

Torches & Headlamps: With extra batteries.

Multi-Tool or Penknife: Handy for various tasks.
