‘Sussex by the Sea' conjures up the famous resorts of Brighton and Eastbourne, each of which can easily fill a day out, having so much to offer.  But don't forget the lesser-known delights of the Sussex coast such as Cuckmere Haven in the Seven Sisters Country Park, or picturesque Rye, just inland.
For a spot of culture you can't beat Glyndebourne, or visit exquisitely painted Charleston, once home of the Bloomsbury set.  Then there's magnificent Sheffield Park, or Battle for a bit of 1066 and all that.  Give the children a turn .. they'll love chugging through the glorious countryside on the Bluebell Railway or playing Pooh sticks at AA Milne's Hartfield in the Ashdown Forest.
