Nestling at the foot of Wetton Hill Gateham Grange is a walkers paradise. Unbeatable location close to Dovedale with cycle trail nearby. Homely converted barn with exposed old wooden beams ideal for couples and families.

The Coach House has a private garden at the back enjoying lovely views down the valley. The lounge with patio doors catches the sun and overlooks Wetton Hill (conquering this hill is a must for many of our guests to be rewarded with panoramic views to die for). Alternatively, just step out of the door and ramble down the dales.

Robert, Teresa, Sam, Lisa, Freddie and Freya invite you to experience life on a real working farm with lambing (starting mid March) and calving (beginning in May) being a popular time. Animals include cattle, sheep and free range hens. Just come to see us at the Farmhouse and we will gladly show you around the farm.

Our farmstead is situated on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border. Indeed, it is this perfect location that brings walkers and cyclists to our farm year after year.  You can set off in any direction for a day of perfect walking in the Peak District with the Manifold Valley less than two miles to the west and the Dove only a mile or so eastwards.  Walk from the cottage door following the network of footpaths down to Narrowdale, Beresford Dale and on to Wolfscote Dale.  There are miles of quiet country lanes to discover by bike.  For experienced mountain bikers, the remote moorland bridleways can provide more of a challenge.

Walk from your door around Wetton Hill onto Wetton Mill (lovely tearooms provide much needed refreshments), climb up to Thors Cave to view the Manifold Valley in all its glory. The quaint busy village of Hartington is just 4 miles away with tearooms, delightful shops, including the old cheese shop. There is a great childrens' play area, along with water sports at Carsington Water.

Ideally situated for visiting many historic houses including Chatsworth, Tissington Hall, Haddon Hall and Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood. The Manifold cycle trail is just down the road.  The Spa town of Buxton with Pavilion Gardens and Opera House, the  Heights of Abraham with cable car at Matlock, Bakewell famous for its Bakewell Puddings and the UK's number 1 theme park Alton Towers are all close by.

With quaint market towns and farmers' markets there's something for everyone. Local pubs within a mile and a half serving good food and some welcoming children and dogs!

 Testimonial

" The reception from the Flower family could not have been better. All three were prepared to chat about their farm and this made a big difference to us. We felt welcome and not an inconvenience on their working farm. Even their bull was so docile we thought it was actually a pet. Life on the farm appeared to be like a silent movie as work was taking place. We could see it all but there was so little noise we could relax in a quiet atmosphere
As a base to explore from it is ideally situated, and we had no problem driving to the towns and attractions in the Peak District. The weather was also very kind to us. Even when using the washing machine and iron during the week we were surprised just how little it cost for electricity. When can we visit again? It will certainly be on our wish list for next year."  I Kerry
