Immerse yourself in farm life and roam free over fields, orchard and vegetable gardens. Collect eggs for breakfast and help yourself to an abundance of our organic produce.

At Warborne Farm we are passionate about sustainability and environmentally sensitive development. We use renewable energy sources for all our heating and hot water across the whole farm and we are proud to be carbon neutral or if you really want to get with it, we are “sustainably exploiting our natural resources”. We harness a mixture of the sun (PV solar for electricity and thermal solar for hot water); the air (air source heat pump) for heating, and renewable fossil fuels (wood pellet boiler for heating and hot water). All our waste goes into the farms giant biodigester.

You can bring your horse (or several) with you on your stay at Warborne Farm.  We have internal lodden stables located inside brick barns, lovely and snug in winter and cool in the summer.  Turnout is available depending on the ground (we have sandy soil so usually ok).  There is a variety of hacking from the farm, we have single track roads leading to the open New Forest (just under 10 mins at walk) we are also close to Royden Woods and a short trailer distance from Wilverley Enclosure, which has fantastic track hacking.  Located at the farm is a 20 by 40m arena and a grass track fenced off around the outside of the horses fields for hacking.  (depending on ground).  Please email or call if wanting to bring a horse along, to check availablity.

Dogs are welcome too!

The Brick Barn combines traditional materials with modern comforts for a cosy and stylish break in the heart of the New Forest. The sense of space has been retained by keeping the ground floor living area to its full height with a mezzanine landing and exposed rafters.  This reflects how the barn used to be with a partial floor to store the grains for milling below.

The mill wheel is still on the side of the barn and this was driven by a steam engine back in the day. As was traditional in these barns, the downstairs has a soft brick floor and upstairs is laid with recycled oak floor boards from a 180 year old Amish barn, both with underfloor heating. In the kitchen and living area, you will find original stall partitions, once used for the working horses, which later gave way to tractors.

Contemporary and stylish the Long Barn is spacious and bursting with rustic charm. This sense of space has been retained by keeping the ground floor living area to its full height with soaring vaulted ceilings and cosy bedrooms up in the eaves.  As was traditional in these barns, the downstairs has a soft brick floor and upstairs is laid with recycled oak floor boards from a 180 year old Amish barn, both with underfloor heating. In the kitchen we have reclaimed corrugated iron from the dung heap and the antique butchers block from our old farm shop butchery.

This barn feels the biggest of them all, so it is no surprise that this is where they used to store the straw – which needed a big, open, well ventilated yet weather-proof barn. This was the threshing barn where the noisy threshing machine, powered by an equally noisy steam powered traction engine would knock out the grains from the ears of corn.

The Old Stables

Settle into the casual luxury of a modernised old stable where the farming history of the building dovetails nicely with George’s eye for design. See if you can spot the achingly cool repurposed surgical trolley and Victorian medical cabinet as a nod to the long line of doctors in the family.  The steel kitchen table is topped with barn oak and the double bed has been crafted straight from our woodlands, using mature silver birch set against a Scandinavian blue background. The sleek and elegant pared back design of The Old Stables invites you to revel in the simple things as you relax back at the farm after a day exploring enchanted New Forest woodlands or the sparkling coastline.

When my father took over from his dad in 1951 there were 5 working horses in here. They were separated by stall partitions and had a hay manger under the window. This was filled with hay, forked down from the hay loft above. The horses were used for everything from ploughing the fields to towing the heavy dray carts and could be ridden too, if rather slowly. At the time they were more reliable than tractors, but that wouldn’t last long..

This barn is on the ground floor with polished concrete floors therefore most suitable for clients with limited mobility.

This gorgeous barn above the nursery stable invites you in from the farmyard up a dramatic reclaimed staircase and into a spacious living area in the eaves. The Grain Loft raises excitement levels with a walk on window overlooking the nursery stable below. Settle in by the logburner and, depending upon the time of year, watch freshly hatched chicks, Snowgoose goslings, Swiss Valais lambs or Boer kids arriving into the world. The floor is fully soundproofed so don’t worry about bleating keeping you up, you can enjoy the experience in perfect peace!  The four handcrafted hay mattresses divided by stall partitions are a quirky and cosy place to put your head down after a day on the farm and the liberal use of sheep skins from our own flock create the charming feel of a beautiful Swiss chalet.

The original pulley system is still in place, but instead of hauling up hessian sacks of grain to be stored, a cluster of lightbulbs are draped through it.
