Croft Farm Holiday Cottages - Barn Conversions set in the Peak District, Derbyshire Dales. Direct access onto the High Peak Trail, for walking and cycling.

Croft Farm is a non-working farm located on the edge of the quaint hamlet of Pikehall, in the Peak District National Park. The surrounding land is still owned by the farm and is worked and tendered during the harvesting season. We have animals grazing in the meadow and sheep in the winter. We are ideally located for those who wish to explore the beautiful Derbyshire countryside, having direct off road access onto the High Peak Trail. An abundance of walks and beautiful countryside right on our doorstep! Our Cottages have been furnished to a high standard retaining many of the original character from the farm buildings, accommodating 2 up to 11 in three individually designed cottages. Centrally located for Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton, Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, and many more! At Bakewell is the agricultural market every Monday-delightful breakfast and lunch can be had there..

Luxurious converted barns that have been tastefully renovated, each centrally heated and individually designed. Families, couples and small groups will enjoy this attractive accommodation during the whole year. As well as being a great base to explore the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District, it is also ideal for cyclists and walkers.  Ideally placed surrounded by small villages and local pubs, tea rooms and further afield restaurants in the towns to visit.

There is a multitude of things to explore in the Peak District and Derbyshire, whether you are here for ashort break, a week, or weekend. There are many walking trails, view-catching cycling routes, rock climbing opportunities, and quaint country villages for you to discover.

Why not start your trip at Chatsworth to enjoy one of the great days out in Derbyshire and the Peak District? It’s not hard to see why this is one of the most visited attractions in the county! Visit the magnificent Chatsworth House and Garden’s, located near Bakewell in the Peak District, which is steeped in history and stunningly beautiful.  Ashbourne, Alton Towers, Bakewell, Buxton, Carsington Water and Dovedale are all but a few destinations to explore in the area.

Enter into the well-equipped kitchen which has all your essentials including; hob/oven, dishwasher, washing machine and more. The lounge boasts a beautiful feature window allowing all-natural light into the room with a dining table allowing you to enjoy your meals with views of the well-presented courtyard. Also, includes a log burner for those cosy winter nights in! 

A double bedroom includes a double bed, and exterior door with access to the patio area and shared lawn. 

The bathroom includes a bath with shower over, wash basin and WC.

Trail View cottage is a beautifully converted detached barn, set on a single level with its own private secluded patio and lawned area (open plan at one end), with a breath-taking view of the High Peak Trail. Leading off from the lawn through a gate is a footpath directly up to the Trail.

Suitable for all the family, Trail View accommodates four people, plus space for a travel cot if required. Traditional restored beams in the well-equipped Kitchen and Lounge. 

The kitchen includes all the essentials you require, including; hob/oven, microwave, dishwasher and more! Leading off from the kitchen is the spacious lounge with log burner to give you that home from home feeling! 

Bathroom: with bath, WC and washbasin, heated towel rail, shaver point and mirror

The Farriers is an attractive, converted barn set on two levels with a patio area and shared lawn.

This cottage sleeps six, ideal for larger families, and has a prominent secluded corner position in the courtyard. Spring 2025 we are now accommodating six in this cottage. Perfect for bringing the Grandparents along and extended families. All rooms have a spacious layout, heated by electricity throughout with an electric fire in the lounge for those cosy winter evenings.

Dining Kitchen with fitted kitchen units, sink, hob, double oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine and exterior access doors.

Lounge with leather sofas, TV and DVD player, coffee table, a free standing electric fire and exterior access door to the patio area.

Cloakroom, WC and washbasin

Bathroom with bath, W.C., wash basin, heated towel rail and electric shaver point.

Bedroom 1: with one double and twin beds

Bedroom 2: with double bed, and ensuite shower room with shower cubicle, washbasin, W.C. and heated towel radiator.

There is a paved patio area to the rear of the property with external lighting, and access to a lawned area via steps.

To the front of the property is a shared courtyard area with some external lighting.

In 2024 we installed a superfast EV Charger, free to all guests staying 3 nights or longer. Ideal for those guests who have travelled from afar.

From the North (via M1)
Leave the M1 at junction 28 and take the A38 to Ripley, the A610 to Ambergate and the A6 to Cromford.
At the traffic lights at Cromford, turn left off the A6 then right onto the A5012 Cromford to Newhaven road.
Travel on this road for 7-8 miles approximately, pass through the hamlet of Pikehall, we are the first drive on the left after passing through Pikehall.

From the South (via M1)
Leave the M1 at junction 24 and follow the A50 towards Uttoxeter/Alton Towers.
At Sudbury, leave the A50 and take the A515 to Ashbourne.
Keep on the A515 through Ashbourne heading towards Buxton for 10 miles until you reach Newhaven, turn right onto the A5012, Newhaven/Cromford road (if you pass Newhaven Services you have gone too far).
Travel approximately 1 mile and we are the 3rd drive on the right with the limestone wall on either side, signposted Croft Farm Holidays.
