Mount Farm Ratley is a classic golden Hornton stone rambling farm house with its own Motte and Bailey Castle in its back garden dating to the eleventh Century. we can sleep six people in a very large bedroom looking onto the Motte with a super kingsize bed and shower room , and a family room comprising a king size bed and a separate twin bedded room with family bathroom and shower. Both rooms are accessed by spiral staircases .There is a large lounge with TV for guests use. A traditional farmhouse breakfast is served using home produce. Dog friendly

Mount Farm is set on the borders of Oxford and Warwickshire. Close to the site of the Battle of Edge Hill. Rolling Cotswold hills surround us with numerous walks to explore including the Battle fields trail and the Seven shires Way. We offer a family room comprising a twin bedded room ( the Drawbridge) and a kingsize bedded room ( Bailey) with a family bathroom and shower. These can be used to sleep two in twin beds or two in a kingsize bed or a family of four using one family bathroom. There are steps down into the twin bedded room and beams in both rooms. Tea and coffee facilities are available in both rooms. Good wifi. Our other bedroom is Motte a superking size room with adjacent shower room. Accessed by a spiral staircase. Dog friendly.

We offer a farmhouse breakfast using where ever possible home produced food.

There is good off road parking and a peaceful garden to use.

The house has lots of changes of level, low ceilings and un even flagstone floors.  Mullioned windows with leaded lights, wood burning stoves and lots of original beams along with spiral staircases . It is a unique long rambling farmhouse with lots of historic features hence it is Grade2 listed.  How often can you stay in a property with a Motte and Bailey Castle to awake in the morning to look at.???

Bailey looks out over the front garden and a small window looks towards the castle Motte. It has a comfortable kingsize bed. fitted wardrobe. working desk. Excellent wifi and tea and Coffee making facilities. Radio Alarm. The room is large and carpeted approximately 5 metres by 5 metres. Furnished with mahogany vintage furniture. It features beams and mullioned windows and a large fireplace. access to a family bathroom with bath and separate shower cabinet. The bed is made up with good quality linen and towels. Dressing gowns and Hair dryer provided. There is space to put a pop up bed if necesssary.

There is an adjoining door to the Twin Bedded Drawbridge room. Comfortable single beds with good quality cotton linen and towels , Hanging space. Tea and Coffee making facilities. Wifi. Radio Alarm. Adult toweling dressing gowns.

Low door way with steps... deffinitely a duck and grouse spot ! The room is carpeted and has original beams with views out towards the horse stable area. the bathroom is accessed via the adjacent Bailey bedroom.

It is possible to book just the twin bedded room or just the kingsize room or to book for a family of four.  If it is not a group of four no other guest will be offered the adjacent room.

The twin bedded Drawbridge is £50 per person including breakfast.Bailey is £70 per person including breakfast.

Motte is a delightful large room with two large stone mullioned windows over looking the rear garden and the Motte part of the Motte and bailey castle. It has a super king size bed with high quality cotton bed linen and towels. There are fitted wardrobes and modern mahogany furniture. There is a work desk. good wifi. Tea and coffee making facilities. A large feature fireplace . Radio alarm clock. Hair dryer and towelling dressing gowns. There is space to put a pop up bed in the room.

From the M40 junction 12 at Gaydon follow the brown tourist signs to Upton House. After the steep climb of Edgehill take the second junction on the left sign posted Ratley and the Rose and Crown pub. Follow the lane for half a mile until the cross roads go straight ahead down the High Street,  Mount Farm stands slightly set back from the road on the right hand side as you come down the hill of the High Street.

From the M40 Junction 11 at Banbury follow the A422 signed Wroxton and Stratford upon Avon. Drive through Drayton, Wroxton and as you come to the signs for Upton House turn right signed Ratley and Edgehill. after approximately one mile turn right on the bend with the stone Monument. Follow the road to the cross roads. Turn right down the Hight Street. Mount Farm is slightly set back from the road on the right hand side.
