Cycling Breaks Lincolnshire
Lincolnshire is perfect for Cycling Holidays with a great variety of cycling opportunities for all skills and all ages!
The Lincolnshire Wolds offer stunning scenery and the historic city of Lincoln is surrounded by easily accessible countryside routes, a great mix of leisure and distance rides for all abilities. The unique landscape of the Lincolnshire Fens offers many along waterways
which are perfect for cycling alongside. A new cycle way along the River Witham links Boston to Lincoln, plus you can cycle leisurely along quiet – and mainly flat – country lanes as part of the National Cycle Route.
If you bring your own bike you will find a safe dry place to store bicycles on the farm and you don’t even need to bring your own bike as there are cycle hire centres abound.
We have B&B accommodation and self catering holiday cottages near National Cycle Route No 1, encompassing the towns of Grimsby, Market Rasen, Coningsby, Boston & Holbeach. Witham Valley Country Park near Lincoln offers a connection of lovely green parks & open spaces rich in wildlife and history, perfect for cycling, walking & bird watching.
The Fossdyke Canal Trail runs alongside the Fossdyke Navigation, a Roman built canal which joins the tidal River Trent to Lincoln's High Bridge. You can walk or cycle ride along the Water Rail Way: a purpose built trail linking Lincoln to Boston with a range of artwork along the route. And also the Bluestone Heath Road which runs from Candlesby to Caistor. (Images Visit Lincs)
