Brean has a beautiful 3 mile beach with exciting sand dunes to explore with your dog, it is possible to walk along the beach and then climb up Brean Down for a lovely view of the countryside and over the water. Most other beaches in the Somerset area are also restriction free, but some operate a May-September restriction, so worth checking before you set off.
This world-famous beauty spot of Cheddar Gorge is one of Somerset’s best known attractions – a great day out for all and a place where they welcome dogs.
There are also a number of National Trust properties that are happy for you to bring your dog to…The gardens and park at Montacute near Yeovil, are just perfect for a walk, and if you're feeling energetic you can take a ramble up to St. Michael's Hill. The parkland surrounding Dunster Castle is the perfect place to roam around, and the River Anvil is good for a quick dip and a cool off/drink. The castle gardens welcome dogs on short leads.
There are also plenty of opportunities for walking with your dog in the Exmoor Moorland which straddles Somerset and Devon.
